Plan Description:

Colleen and I moved to BONNELLS BAY on the MORISSET PENINSULA in NSW about 10 years ago and still find out new things about our community every day. Like many we have travelled in Australia and a little overseas. We are not fully aware of many things about our local community despite being very inquisitive and always keen to learn. There are no organised tours for the 15000? residents or visitors. As part of the WELCOME TO NEW RESIDENTS - FIRST TUESDAY CLUB run by Colleen, I have offered to give an informal local tour for an hour or two to anyone interested. I have always known that the tours were appreciated and occasionally I find those tours were of great significance. After two years of sowing the idea and creating interest, I now document in this place (of great potential) THE PLAN to get various small and large tours of the South Lake Macquarie area going.

My Big reasons are:

To fill a gap in the local knowledge of places, activities and opportunities in the area. There already exists elements of success in that several NGOs, Clubs etc have buses available; numerous long term locals have extensive knowledge and scores of sporting, support and recreational groups etc are in danger of failing for lack of publicity of various kinds. Cooperation is possible with district professional tour companies who may develop local tours with local information and support provided by non professionals.

My plan will be a success when:

Regular opportunities are available for people at reasonable cost to uncover the immense learning, business and recreational opportunities which ALREADY EXIST AND ARE NOT KNOWN OR FULLY KNOWN.
