Quitober Challenge - Quit Smoking Month

Nicole H I love this plan. What is the best way for individuals to help?

Quitober Hi Nicole, as with any idea like this with no marketing budget, I guess it is all about word of mouth. If you know any smokers ask them to take the Quitober Challenge. Unsponsored smokers can register for free and employers can also sponsor their staff to quit smoking, refunding their $31 membership if they successfully quit. This year will be a reasonably low key campaign but at the same time I have some 7 major universities sponsoring their staff so it is a good start. I am running this campaign totally unsupported by any government or Quit organisation so it is really difficult but makes me more resolved to ship it and to succeed despite their lack of support.

Quitober These universities are representing some 50,000 staff of which some 20% smoke, so about 10,000 smokers which is not too bad for starters. There are 39 days to go before Quitober so I am hopeful of getting another few employers to participate, with around maybe 250 smokers taking part. Movember, which I have used as inspiration, started with some 250 members so I will be in good comapny if I achieve this.
