Plan Description:

Murray For A Cause is a 2200km kayak solo journey along the Murray River from Albury to the ocean in South Australia. This trip is set to take approximately two months to complete.

My Big reasons are:

To raise awareness of youth mental health and promote headspace Bendigo as a free service helping to support local youth with mental health problems. I personally have accessed this service and the fact it is aimed for young people and the staff are up to date with youth/ young adult issues meant that it was relevant and supportive for this generation. Mental illness is an issue that has only really come into focus and more accepting in the last few years. It is something that will affect every one of us in some form or another. Its hard when you hear about a young that has not even reached their potential or had the chance to experience life when its cut short so tragically because of youth suicide. Headspace centres are giving young people a chance to get their life back.

My plan will be a success when:

I reach the Murray mouth in South Australia. Also when fundraising that goes directly to Headspace Bendigo is as much as I can raise!.
