Plan Description:

To do what no one has done before...get Jarrahdale activated as a tourist destination by reigniting the fire and passion of having what was known as the Heritage Park become a reality. This project is the most over planned project with documents a mile high but whilst on the verge of becoming reality vital funding was lost and the vision came crashing down.It has sat there with locked gates for over 5 -7 years awaiting committed drivers with the time and energy to fight for it. The time is now and the JCA are on the case working with the National Trust.

My Big reasons are:

Serpentine Jarrahdale needs a Visitor Centre. We need to promote our heritage assets, our unique environment and history. We have a jewel in the crown to do this. A space in the hands of the National Trust that oozes charm. It has an amazing history and is connected to one of the first timber mills in WA and the cutting down of Jarrah trees that were put on a train heading for the Rockingham Port. The old Mill Managers House could provide the perfect location for a visitor centre. With tourists coming to Serpentine Jarrahdale it will boost the economy and have incredible spin offs for SJ. It will put us on the map.

My plan will be a success when:

This plan belongs to the SJ Community....when a business case has been funded and we have a Visitor Centre in Jarrahdale promoting our entire community to the world.
