A Girl in the World

My own childhood left a lot to be desired, lacking in the care and protection that was needed to keep me safe from harm is very much a part of my own life story. I know what it means to grow up feeling vulnerable and alone, empty of inspiration and afraid. This is the sad reality for so many children in our world. I believe that A Girl in The World can and will make a positive difference, enriching connections through storytelling, creativity and inspiring and helping others. Finding and providing opportunities that encourage and allow children to connect, understand and express themselves is vital to their mental and emotional wellbeing and spiritual health and growth. This helps children to believe in and understanding that thoughts and feelings are valued. Helping build confidence and resilience in children, and develop a healthy sense of themselves, is of the greatest importance. It clears a path for them to develop a strong belief in who they are and their ability to make positive choices. One of the greatest gifts we can offer our children is the knowledge that they have choices, that they can choose to respond or react to the world around them. Empowering children through choice. Our children deserve to live and thrive in a world that cares for, inspires and nourishes them. Offering them every possibility to follow their dreams. Our children and our environment are precious, they are a gift and deserve to be treated as such.

A Girl in the World needs your help to raise enough money for the first print run of 1000 books. This will cost $15,000. This amount represents the cost involved in having the book produced with full environmental considerations and certification in Australia. My plan will be a success when I have raised enough money to cover the cost of the first print run. When I have 1000 copies of the book ready to distribute and am sharing the story of A Girl in the World, why she is here and am raising awareness and funds for Orphfund. Orpfund is an amazing organisation and the wonderful life saving, life changing work they do with children in need around the world is vital. By creating children’s books with purpose, that are eco friendly and sustainable with transparency and information as to the printing and production of these books, we open up the world of possibility to explore and communicate with children about the environment and our need to protect it. To talk with children about sustainability and it's importance. Opening up conversations with children, about caring and sharing and the vast number of creative ways we can do that, will help them to become pro-active and equip them to make decisions and choices regarding the future of our planet and the use of it’s resources.
