Plan Description:

The Kevin Bacon Party is an upmarket mixer for attractive, intelligent and financially independent 30 somethings who are connected by friends six degrees of separation. PR consultant and event organiser of The Kevin Bacon Party, Caroline James, is hoping to matchmake close to 280 singles on the night. The Kevin Bacon Party relies on the premise that everyone in the room needs to be connected by six degrees of separation. This way the party is full of friends and friends’ of friends. Singles all want to meet someone they click with and it’s usually better odds this will happen if the person comes from within the friendship networks.

My Big reasons are:

As a 36 year old single, I would like to meet an equal to share my life with. I am deterred by the usual run of the mill singles' parties and the 'desperate and dateless' vibe they put out. The Kevin Bacon Party is exclusive and will be classy and glamorous. The main reason for the party is to attract intelligent, well spoken and mannered people with similar value sets 30 + (Generation Xers) in the one room where it will offer them a chance to potentially meet their love match. I am also seeking to build awareness of my capabilities as a Public Relations Consultant.

My plan will be a success when:

I have 140 great women and 140 great men signed up to come. I already have some 260 'fans' on The Kevin Bacon Party page on Facebook - but from this, I anticipate about 100 would be paying customers ($150 per tix) and the proportion would be 80/20 girl/boy. It's a prime opportunity to support an event where successful Generation X professionals will be under the one roof. I would like to make the event high-end and require sponsor or contra deals to ensure this aim is met.
