Plan Description:

Last year my wife and I decided we’d compete in the Noosa triathlon together. I was excited but also a bit nervous – mostly because I could barely swim one lap without gasping for breath! As I became a stronger swimmer I realised that, with so many things to concentrate on (kicking, breathing, staying in a straight line…), I was having trouble keeping track of the number of laps I’d done. This was especially difficult near the end of my training when I was averaging 60 laps per session. My plan is this: figure out a way to keep track of the number of laps I’ve completed! I’m hoping other swimmers might be able to help me – I’m keen to hear some strategies! I’ve also been thinking about developing some sort of waterproof thimble that could sit on my finger so each time I complete a length I can tap it on the wall and it will click up a lap.

My Big reasons are:

I’m sure that there are many other swimmers out there who have trouble keeping track of their laps – I’m hoping we’ll be able to come to a solution together!

My plan will be a success when:

I have some sort of strategy or tool to make it easier to keep track of how hard I’m working in the pool!
