Things you should know about me:

I'm into community and charity work pretty heavily. I started Crafters for Charity in the year 2000 with just a group of six friends and now we have over 100 members in our Yahoo! Group and I have over 30 regular donors of craftwork who help stock our charity crafts stalls. I have been a member of C.W.A. in Melbourne Victoria, yes there are city branches of the C.W.A. ,of which this year I am treasurer of my local branch but I have been crafts leader and activities planner for the past four years. I still plan the activities of my local branch. Another member has now taken the role of crafts leader with some assistance. In 2009 I started up a crafts based social group at my local Neighbourhood House. This has been fun and the women who have joined enjoy a good laugh, share food and do a little bit of craftwork, lol, each time they come.

What I'm interested in:

I'm interested in a wide range of things from science and environmental issues ( I studied science including Aquatic Biology at Uni), to wildlife, making and selling crafts for charity, working in my community through CWA and my local Neighbourhood House. I enjoy watching a competitive game of cricket, V8 Supercars, the Olympics, an odd murder mystery, a good documentary, Dr Who. I like the shows that show renovations of old or interesting homes and mansions and make viable businesses from them, good cooking shows where ingredients used are all grown by the chef/cook. I like clever shows with good ideas and shows which educate and inform. I also like and enjoy however a good, funny and clever children's animated movie. I've had to with 6 young nephews and nieces to keep occupied when they visit. Mostly when they come to visit we do creative and active things like cooking and crafts or gardening and backyard sport or I take them to the local park to play, but sometimes when we, (me mostly, lol ) need some quiet time, we put on a DVD or play a PC game. I love a good comedy. Not so keen on chick flicks unless they are funny and/or I fancy the leading man, lol! I love to sing and listen to good music. I like to find the lyrics to songs I like on Google and then sing along with them to good versions on Youtube.

Things I am good at:

I'm an ideas person. Have a great time brain storming ideas and then thrashing them out with friends, family and other community workers to see if we can turn them into reality. Always eager to learn new things. I'm a good organiser. Have to be when I plan and/or take part in about 30 charitable and community events each year. Good at creating attractive crafts and displays of such ie picking colours, designs etc that appeal.
